London plant lockout sidelines 500 workersCompanies are using their big war chests, you know, accumulated profits, gathered during the economic downturn in order to fight unions and lower wages.
Electro-Motive Diesel, which makes diesel-electric locomotives and engines in London, Ont., has locked out almost 500 unionized workers after they failed to take a 50 per cent cut in wages and benefits.
Our ideological (or idiotic) government decides its time to cut taxes on corporations. Straight out of the US wingnut party (known as the batshit crazy republican faction) playbook this is supposedly to stimulate the economy. Nice to see Harper smiling as he visits the plant a few years back... we need to find the money trail.
[ If you don't know what I mean about the link between business and government please read this. ]
Hasn't anybody figured out that economies are the result of public spending? Are we all aware that lowered wages, public and private sector layoffs, and less take home pay are actually ways to screw the economy?
Look here. Get your damned ideology out of my pocket.
On another note, somebody out there has the information needed to prove malfeasance -- we just have to pay them enough!
